Everyone wants to see the email. I don’t have time to insert the graphics right now, but all anyone really wants to know is who is on the list. I altered private email addresses so that they cannot be used. I will clean this up later and add all the graphics. Continue reading

iePolitics: Be Careful When Calling Us Liars
I can already see it now. “You’re ruining that poor girl’s life.” Yada, yada, yada. Our three amigos, Grunt, Taylor and Phulakes, are very good at criticizing us, telling us we don’t have proof, and we shouldn’t be talking trash about the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department because these guys and gals put there lives on the line for us every day. And I’ve written many times that we appreciate 98 percent of the employees who work for the SBSD. It’s that other 2 percent that are the problem and most of them are supervisors or above.
But then we have days like yesterday and today where iePolitics has received very good information about crimes being committed by SBSD employees and being covered up by SBSD brass. POST II was yesterday’s scandal.
Today we are going to discuss an old cover up. It wasn’t particularly relevant and I honestly didn’t care. It was ACU’s bailiwick, not mine, and I was just as happy to sit back and let the boys fight it out. Then the “victim/perpetrator” had to chime in. And that started a firestorm of private emails. iePolitics: SBSD – Don’t They Learn?
Here is a perfect example of why cover up and nepotism is such a problem in the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. The current POST scandal should have been a lesson, but it wasn’t. Why? Because there was no real punishment for bilking taxpayers out of who knows how much money. So why not try it again?
Yes. That is right. No lesson learned. Continue reading
iePolitics: More on Judge Lemkau and Baby Wyatt
Someone has stirred the pot today besides for Paul Schrader. It has forced me to stop long enough to post a little more information on this subject.
First of all, here is the press release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department: Baby Wyatt. As you can see, there is no mention whatsoever of a police pursuit. Here are a few additional details I have been made aware of.
First, Judge Lemkau was not the first judge to deny Katie Tagle’s request for a restraining order, but at least the third. There is actually some startling evidence (in all three judges’ favor) that I’m trying to verify and get copies of to post. Continue reading
iePolitics: More Cover Up in the Sheriff’s Department – Updated
Today’s Daily Press includes the following story:
Five hurt in three-vehicle crash
May 23, 2010 3:55 PMVICTORVILLE • Several people were injured early Sunday morning during a head-on crash on Highway 395, and while a good Samaritan tried to help the victims, a third vehicle slammed into the crash scene, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s officials said.
Shortly before 4 a.m., a 2001 BMW driven by a 48-year-old man northbound on Highway 395 north of Bear Valley Road, crossed into the southbound lane and struck a 2008 Toyota Camry head on, according to a sheriff’s news release.
The Toyota Camry, driven by a 38-year-old man with a 19-year-old male passenger, spun off the roadway and came to rest on the east dirt shoulder. The BMW remained in the southbound lane.
Just after the collision, an uninvolved motorist stopped to assist the involved parties. While the motorist was standing on the passenger side of the BMW, a 2002 Oldsmobile sport utility vehicle traveling northbound, struck the BMW, throwing the pedestrian from the roadway.
The Oldsmobile, driven by a 26-year-old woman, veered off the roadway, striking a power pole.
All five people involved were transported by ambulance to area trauma centers with unknown injuries, according to sheriff’s officials.
Anyone with information the collision is asked to contact Deputy Scott Chapdelaine at (760) 243-1894.
What is not reported in the story is the fact that an off-duty Alhambra police officer, who had been drinking, was involved in the first accident. The daughter of a recently retired sheriff’s lieutenant was the driver of the vehicle who hit the uninvolved motorist who stopped to assist. She is a sheriff’s deputy who recently was reassigned to the jail due to incompetence. She too had been drinking. Continue reading
iePolitics: Another Scandal To Hit The Sheriff’s Department
iePolitics: More POST Rumors
I have a dozen or more Sheriff’s Office corruption anonymous emails to follow up on and will do so as soon as I can. Honest. I promise. I appreciate all the tips.
But one arrived this morning that will take this scandal to a whole new level. It suggests that former Deputy Chief Mike Stodell was involved in the scandal. Anyone have additional information?
iePolitics: Threats and the Blog
Am I the only completely amazed by a couple of the comments from those who claim to be members of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department? I am really hoping that “Down with AntiCorruptionUnit” is a prankster and the comment wasn’t really from a cop. It would be a shame to think we have someone that stupid carrying a badge and gun.
As to “Long Lost Friend,” I did exactly what I have always said I would do if someone makes a viable threat here on the blog. Long Lost Friend’s information was forwarded this morning via email to Sheriff Hoops. It is up to the Sheriff whether he does anything with the information. Continue reading
iePolitics: All In The Family
Someone asked about nepotism in the Sheriff’s Office and someone quickly sent me a list of known family members. Of course, no one is saying that the youngsters don’t deserve their jobs or promotions but no one is saying they didn’t have a little help either. Here is the list so far:

- Rob Wickum now a Captain—Father was former Chief
- Dave Williams now a Captain—Father was a former Sheriff
- Joe Catalano now a Detective—Father was a former Captain
- Steve Kovensky now a Captain—Brother-in-law to Hoops
- Harry Stewart now a Sergeant—Husband to Sherrie Stewart Deputy Chief

- Cameron Pratt Deputy—Father is Glenn Pratt Assistant Sheriff (First year he has been eligible to test for Detective and he is in Group 1)
- Scott Nobles Deputy—Father is Warren Nobles Assistant Sheriff
I’m sure y’all will add a few names to the list.

The department has completed its investigation and the case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s office next week, Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Cindy Beavers said Friday. Continue reading
iePolitics: Sheriff’s Internal Affairs, Part 1
I hope to add a little insight on what goes on behind the scenes in the Sheriff’s Department Internal Affairs Division, both for our civilian readers and those un-informed employees, and sorry to say some misinformed ones also. For those employees who have not been there, I hope you never do, but if that time comes, READ this and think.
A little history first. Here after Internal Affairs will be referred to as IA.
I should state that everything in this article is my personal opinion based on past experience in dealing with IA investigators, SEBA reps, lawyers and many hours reading case law as it pertains to these issues, and of course speaking with many employees regarding their adventures with those in IA. Some of us can be self taught about the evils of IA and the Union. Continue reading
iePolitics: The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department – A Legacy of Malfeasance
On Monday, March 22, 2010, we will start a new series of articles that will discuss corruption within the Sheriff’s Department—ranging from coverups and threats of retaliation to criminal activity from the bottom up through the ranks to the office of Sheriff.
Even though the position of Sheriff is an elected position, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department has a 60-year history of handpicking their own leadership with all opponents facing an impossible battle. There are reasons why it has been impossible for anyone but the chosen heir to make a serious attempt at election. Continue reading
iePolitics: The Sheriff’s Private Stock
Don’t worry Rod, I’m waiting to write about it in detail. Actually, since so many of your staff members read the blog and I know the title will catch their eye, I thought I’d use it for now. What I’m really looking for is some intel regarding fraud and corruption going on in the department right now.
Is it true that Sergeant Beavers retired? If so, has he been criminally charged yet?
Is it true that a complaint has been filed with the District Attorney’s office regarding Captain Grey? If so, when did that happen? And what has happened to all of those who received falsified POST certificates? Seems to me this is a real scandal that should involved criminal charges for all who participated. Huh Rod? Continue reading
iePolitics: Can anyone confirm or deny this story?
This came from the Sheriff’s Department and we have lots of fans within that department so maybe someone can verify or clarify this story:
Here’s another one for you to look at. I do not know for a fact but I have received this information from a reliable source that the maintance supervisor at Sheriff’s headquarters made between $170.000.00 and $200,000.00 last year. He oversee’s approximately 5 employees and he was given a county vehicle as a take home car. They would place one maintance worker on call in case the heater or air conditioner would stop working or some chief’s office did not get dusted right and pay that worker on call pay. The supervisor would then be placed on a call back status in case he needed to come into the office to supervisor that employee. That means that he would receive his pay 24 hours per day 7 days a week. Someone would have to wonder what dirt this guy had on the upper brass to receive this type of treatment. Sometimes it is helpful to open those doors late at night you never know what you will find lurking behind them.
